Between March 5 and 7, Design Radar organized a special visit to the Arkoslight headquarters in Valencia, alongside a group of collaborating architects. The trip was designed as a professional and inspirational experience, intended to deepen the understanding of lighting’s role in contemporary architecture and interior design projects.
The visit offered us the opportunity to discover the Arkoslight philosophy, production processes, and the way lighting solutions are developed to meet current architectural requirements firsthand.

Arkoslight – Spanish design, innovation, and technical precision
Founded in Valencia, Arkoslight is today one of the leading European manufacturers in the field of architectural lighting. The brand stands out through an approach where minimalist design, technical performance, and production quality come together to create lighting fixtures specifically designed for architectural projects.

Arkoslight products are present in numerous international projects – from residential spaces and hotels to retail, offices, or galleries – and are appreciated for their clean lines, discreet integration into architecture, and precise light control.
Our entire showroom experience is built using Arkoslight lighting solutions, precisely to demonstrate how light can define a space.
Light – an essential element in architecture
During the visit, the Arkoslight team guided us through a program that included a company presentation, a tour of the production facilities, and an exploration of the showroom.

The discussions highlighted an essential aspect: in contemporary projects, light is not just a functional element, but a fundamental architectural component.
The way light falls on a surface, how it defines volumes, or the atmosphere it creates in a space can completely transform the perception of an interior. Therefore, the correct choice of lighting fixtures and their integration from the design phase are essential for the final result.
The “Feel the Light” experience
A central moment of the visit was exploring the new Feel the Light conceptual space, developed by Arkoslight to demonstrate the potential of light in projects.
This space functions as a sensory laboratory where different lighting scenarios can be experienced directly. Through variations in intensity, direction, and color temperature, visitors can observe how light influences the perception of materials, proportions, and the atmosphere of a space.

For architects, such experiences are essential in the design process, as they provide a concrete understanding of how technical solutions translate into visual experience.
“A memorable moment were the rooms with interactive light installations, where we could control the lighting point with a simple hand movement above a sensor. It was an experience that clearly demonstrated how much light can transform the perception of a space, especially when supported by the sound component, creating an almost immersive experience,” points out architect Andrei Negru, Fenix Design.

From concept to reality – the production facility tour
The program also included a tour of the Arkoslight production facility, where we were able to observe the stages products go through before reaching projects: from development and prototyping to testing and quality control.
“The most valuable moment of the visit was the direct access to the lighting fixture development process. It was very interesting to see how design blends with the technical side and how each product is designed not just aesthetically, but also from the perspective of light performance. The interaction with the team and understanding how they test and perfect every detail gave us a much clearer perspective on the quality and innovation behind Arkoslight products,” describes architect Andrei Negru, Fenix Design.
This visit highlighted the high level of precision and attention to detail that goes into every lighting fixture.

Collaboration with architects – an essential part of the Design Radar philosophy
The Valencia visit was also an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Design Radar and our collaborating architects.
We believe that successful projects are built through dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and shared experiences. That is why we periodically organize such visits and professional meetings that allow architects to directly discover the manufacturers, processes, and philosophy behind the products they use in their projects.

“The visit helped me understand the technical side behind the lighting fixtures: how they function in their ideal lighting scenario, what intensity they operate at, and the difference between all the products. Now I know exactly what to ask for in bidding and, more valuably, I know who to ask for advice when I want to provide the best projects to my clients. Because Arkoslight also offers consultation on lighting projects, and I find that this service helps tremendously and keeps the relationship between the brand and designers close,” said architect Georgiana Gogolan.

Light as an experience
The visit to Arkoslight reaffirmed one essential thing: light is one of the most powerful tools in architecture.
When designed correctly, it doesn't just illuminate a space, it defines its atmosphere, highlights its materials, and creates memorable experiences for those who use it.

“This experience will help me specify faster and more confidently, choose the right family (optics, flux, CCT, CRI, dimming), technically justify the solution, and obtain a cleaner and more efficient lighting scheme — especially in projects where atmosphere and materials matter a lot. The comparative demonstrations caught my attention the most — visual comfort, glare control, optics/angles, and how the fixtures remain discreet while the light becomes the protagonist. Minimalism makes sense here precisely because performance is immediately visible,” shared architect Roland Pangrati.

At Design Radar, we are pleased to work with partners like Arkoslight and offer architects lighting solutions that combine design, technical performance, and the flexibility needed for contemporary projects.
We invite you to the Design Radar showroom to see and test these lighting solutions that make a difference in a premium project.
