On June 3rd, the Design Radar showroom in Bucharest hosted an event organized by ARDI Romania, bringing together architects and interior designers for an open discussion about the market, business, and the opportunities arising in a constantly changing economic and global context.

The special guests of the meeting were architects Victor Grosu and Sebastian Mândroiu, who honestly shared professional experiences, perspectives on the industry's evolution, and ideas on how professionals can navigate current market challenges.

ARDI Romania – a community for design and architecture professionals

ARDI Romania is one of the organizations actively contributing to the development of the community of architects and interior designers in Romania, facilitating the exchange of experience, continuous education, and dialogue between professionals.

In an industry where collaboration is essential, such initiatives are becoming increasingly important. Architecture and interior design no longer function in isolation, but within a complex ecosystem that involves beneficiaries, suppliers, manufacturers, real estate developers, builders, and specialists from numerous complementary fields.

An industry in transformation

Recent years have brought significant changes to the construction and interior design sector. Rising material costs, pressure on execution deadlines, digitalization, and shifts in customer behavior have led professionals to adapt their way of working.

At the same time, the residential market in Bucharest is going through a period of resetting. After years of accelerated growth, developers, investors, and beneficiaries are adapting to a context marked by higher construction costs, more prudent financing conditions, and increased attention paid to the quality of projects.

Data published by international consultants shows that the supply of new housing remains limited, and the number of building permits and projects under development is below the levels recorded in peak years. At the same time, the market has become more selective, and clients are analyzing investments more carefully before making a decision.

In Bucharest, demand has slowed compared to the post-pandemic period, but interest in well-positioned projects and the premium segment remains high. Specialists note that differentiation is no longer given only by location, but also by the quality of architecture, energy efficiency, technology, and the living experience offered by the project.

This shift creates new opportunities for architects, designers, and premium solution providers, in a context where beneficiaries are increasingly looking for long-term value and spaces that respond to a contemporary lifestyle.

These transformations were among the central themes of the discussion hosted by Design Radar.

Open dialogue about business, design, and opportunities

During the meeting, Victor Grosu and Sebastian Mândroiu addressed topics such as maintaining a business in the field of architecture, the challenges of the profession, the relationship with beneficiaries, and the opportunities that arise in an economic context in continuous change.

The discussion was interactive and candid, with participants having the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences.

Beyond the concrete examples and perspectives offered by the guests, the event highlighted once again the importance of professional communities and the exchange of knowledge between peers.

Design Radar – more than just a showroom

At Design Radar, we believe a contemporary showroom must be more than a space for displaying products.

We want to build a place where architects, designers, suppliers, and industry specialists can meet, have relevant conversations, and discover new perspectives.

In the last year, our showroom has hosted technical workshops, product presentations, meetings of professional communities, and events dedicated to the exchange of experience between specialists.

We believe that the future of the industry is built through collaboration, and connecting valuable people in the field represents one of the most important investments we can make as an organization.

At the end of today's event, we invited participants to a tour of the Design Radar showroom. For many of them, it was their first visit to our space, and we were pleased to present the brands and design solutions that represent us.

Thank you to all participants

We thank ARDI Romania, guests Victor Grosu and Sebastian Mândroiu, our partners at Schneider Electric, as well as all the architects and designers who joined us.

We are happy to contribute to the development of a strong professional community and look forward to the next meetings.
