Designing a premium apartment means much more than choosing quality finishes. In this 240 sqm duplex designed by Hype Project, every detail contributes to a cohesive space, where architectural lighting, filomuro doors, flush skirting boards, and Smart Home technology are integrated into a minimalist and elegant architecture.

Design Radar contributed to this project by providing Arkoslight architectural lighting solutions, Albed door and partition systems, as well as the technical details that complete the entire concept.

A duplex apartment designed around light

The home is organized on two levels. The ground floor houses the living area, with an entrance hall, walk-in closet, kitchen, dining room, living room, office, and terrace, while the upper floor is dedicated to the sleeping area.

To maintain clean lines and a calm atmosphere, architect Adrian Ianculescu, the project lead, chose a complete architectural lighting system based on recessed tracks with Arkoslight spotlights and trimless recessed spotlights, which integrate discreetly into the ceiling.

Unlike classic decorative fixtures, these solutions allow light to become part of the architecture without visually cluttering the space.

The entire project uses a color temperature of 3000K, ideal for residential settings, offering a warm and comfortable light.

Recessed spotlights and lighting tracks for a minimalist design

In contemporary projects, trimless recessed spotlights are preferred because they eliminate visible frames and create a continuous ceiling. The Invisible Black technology developed by Arkoslight visually hides the light source and reduces glare, so that attention remains on the architecture and the space, not on the lighting fixture.

In this duplex, the following were used:

• Arkoslight recessed tracks with adjustable spotlights;
• Shot Light trimless recessed spotlights;
• LED profiles integrated into the architecture.

The result is a flexible lighting system that can highlight different areas of the home without affecting the aesthetics of the space.

Staircase lighting becomes part of the architecture

The staircase connecting the two levels is one of the central elements of the project.

Instead of conventional lighting, LED profiles integrated into the steps were chosen.

Beyond its aesthetic role, this solution improves orientation and safety during the evening.

Decorative lighting

The dining area is completed by the Art suspension lamp from Arkoslight, in a white finish, and decorative wall lamps were used in the bedroom. Together with the technical lighting, the decorative pieces create a balance between functionality and atmosphere.

Floor-to-ceiling filomuro doors

One of the most appreciated details of the project is the use of Albed filomuro doors. The SUIT model prepared for cladding was finished with the same veneer used for the furniture, becoming almost invisible in the overall composition.

With a custom height of 300 cm, reaching the ceiling, the door above accentuates the verticality of the space and provides continuity between the walls and the furniture.

This solution is increasingly sought after in premium residential projects due to its minimalist appearance and customization options. The main door, with a height of 260 cm, also follows the same design philosophy.

Natural wood blinds add warmth, texture, and balance to a space, filtering light in a natural and elegant way. Manufactured in Romania, they can be customized according to the project and integrated into both residential interiors and office or HoReCa spaces.

Flush skirting boards and Shadow Gap profiles

To maintain the look of a clean and contemporary interior, the project also uses a series of structural details provided by Design Radar:

• flush skirting boards;
• Shadow Gap profiles;
• minimalist ventilation grilles;
• integrated sockets;
• Albed partition walls.

These are discrete elements that contribute significantly to the visual quality of the entire design.

A Smart Home

The entire home is integrated into a Smart Home system, which allows for the control of lighting and usage scenarios.

In a project where lighting plays such an important role, the ability to control the intensity and atmosphere of each room contributes to the daily experience.

Premium design is built through details

The design of this duplex demonstrates that a premium project is not defined only by furniture or spectacular finishes.

The quality of a residential design is also given by the choice of solutions such as architectural lighting, trimless recessed spotlights, floor-to-ceiling filomuro doors, flush skirting boards, and the discreet integration of technology.

When all these elements are thought out together, the result is a cohesive, elegant, and timeless interior.
